Misled Children-Peoples Market (Porter Records-2008)

I'm not exactly sure how the elusive Clutchy Hopkins is connected to Misled Children i.e. wether he plays in the group or just produces them, but I am "feelin' this shit!" No one really knows exactly who Clutchy Hopkins is/are, but my suspicion is Money Mark and his various cohorts (Tommy Guerrero maybe?) Either way though, the shit is "Poppin" and is some of the best music being made these days. Word!

El Micheals Affair-Enter The 37th Chamber (Truth & Soul-2009)

WU TANG!!!!

A band covering instrumental versions of the Wu Tang classics.
I'll admit, when I first heard about this, it didn't sound too promising.....But thankfully, I was wrong. These guys nailed it. It's a good album. If you're not down with the Wu Tang, then think instrumental soul music.

Ray Barbee

Ray Barbee-Triumphant Procession (Galaxia-2001)
▪ To Soar On Wings Like Eagles Now That Would Be Nice
▪ Lets's Perservere
▪ Triumphant Procession
▪ Fully Persueaded
▪ A Word Aptly Spoken
▪ Moment By Moment

Ray Barbee-In Full View (Galaxia-2005)
▪ There's a Proper Time and Procedure for Every Matter
▪ Find Enjoyment
▪ Good Hope
▪ Man's Wisdom Gives Him Patience
▪ Encouraged by Improvement
▪ Limitations Are Beautiful
▪ In Full View
▪ Another Perspective
▪ Taking Liberties
▪ Reckless Confidence

My first skateboard deck was a Ray Barbee, and since then I always liked this guy. When I heard he made an album, I thought it would be sort of a hype. Eventually though I heard it, and was surprised to hear that it is really damn good, despite that it just happens to be Ray Barbee! Bonus! It's some really great, original and conscious instrumental music, that's perfect for chilling, maxin' & relaxin', and vibing out.......brah!

On a side note, the art on both albums is by Lance Mountain which just adds to the "Bonus Factor". Galaxia (the label puts out the albums) is also worth checking out. Their from the NoCal "brah", and they put out some great and genuine art/music. Go buy the albums and support everyone. No one is getting rich, and you'd be supporting a good thing.
